OpenPast is founded, a spin-off company of the Ionian University — the first in Greece dedicated exclusively to History.
The company acts as a bridge between the university community and society at large, solving the problem of passive consumption of historical information and supporting meaningful, experiential and participatory access to the past.
It is in this context that OpenPast’s work focuses on designing and delivering hybrid activities (in person and digital).
OpenPast was founded and staffed by members of the academic community of the Ionian University, who have high scientific expertise and rich research activity in the field of (Digital) Public History.
It also collaborates with early-career scientists and other specialised professionals.
